There are many arguments against drug testing. For a start, the technology is nowhere near as accurate as the labs claim. The process is invasive, because close supervision is needed to prevent people from cheating with subbed urine and fake penises/whizzinators. Many professionals also point out how it's an ineffective way to manage a workforce.
To quote British psychologist Tony Buon, "drug testing captures the stupid-experienced drug users know how to beat the tests."
Given this, you'll naturally want to know how to beat a pee test.
About urine testing
First let's explore the background to urine testing. Peeing is a primary way for the body to expel the toxins that are filtered from the blood by the kidneys. Without this process, or at least a form of dialysis, we would surely die as toxins accumulate to dangerous levels.
This is what makes urine testing for drugs work, because traces of drugs can be present in urine for days or even weeks afterwards. The process isn't perfect, however, because the amount of toxins in your urine can depend on many factors, such as your metabolism, the time of day, the fluids you've drunk, and so on. This is the key to knowing how to beat a pee test, which we'll explain further.
How to beat a pee test
An old way to beat a pee test involved getting hold of someone else's urine, or possibly using synthetic urine. You could then hide this in your underwear and use it to fill your sample cup once you were in the cubicle. These days, however, testers are far stricter and will often observe as you pee into the cup to prevent you from subbing a sample.
When subbing isn't possible, you need to find a way to produce clean urine naturally. This is where a detox drink comes in. When used as directed, this will cause your body to produce more urine and flush your bladder clean.
After an hour or so, all the existing toxins will be flushed out, and your body will be producing ample urine. It then takes time before the concentration of drug metabolites can return to its original level, giving you a few hours in which to take your drug test.
You'll be giving a sample as normal, so there's no sleight of hand involved. There is also no way to detect that you've used a detox drink.
Does this work for all drugs?
The principle is pretty much the same for all drugs, although some drugs like marijuana stay in the body longer, making drug tests harder to pass in general.
If you feel you need extra help, you can get special kits aimed at particular drugs. For example, a two-stage kit for marijuana includes a detox drink and a further round of detox supplements. After using the detox drink, you can test yourself with the included testing device. If it still shows positive, you can use the included supplements for added effect.
Similar kits are also available for people worried about failing for opiates and cocaine.
