If you've got just three days before a drug test, you're probably wondering if you can get cocaine out of your system in just 62 hours. Everyone is different of course, and it depends on how much and how often you've been using cocaine. We'll try to give you an idea so you can make an informed decision about what to do.
How Long Does Cocaine Stay in the Body?
The normal detection time for cocaine use in urine tests is 2-5 days, but this can be as long as 7-10 days for heavy users. This isn't as bad as it is for weed, for example, but it can still cause problems.
If you're a very light user, then maybe you'll test clean after 62 hours. Like we said earlier, though, everyone is different, and this is definitely in a danger zone. The best thing to do is test yourself at home, so you'll know for sure. Make sure you perform the test under similar conditions to the real test. This means doing it at about the same time of day, drinking about the same amount of water, and having the same level of activity.
If you test negative, then great. You've dodged a bullet that could have ruined your career.
What Can I Do If I Still Test Positive?
The best thing is to have a detox drink or some detox pills on hand for emergencies. It's better to have something and not need it than need something and not have it, especially when your job is on the line. Just make sure you get a drink that's suitable for your body mass.
If you still test positive for drugs after 62 hours, it's time to put this plan B into action. If you're a light user, you are probably a borderline case at this point, so a lighter detox drink should get you through. Heavier users, especially those with a higher body mass, should definitely go for a more potent drink.
Whichever product you go for, make sure you follow the instructions carefully. Drinking too little/too much water or not peeing enough can mess it all up.
What about Hair Tests for Cocaine?
Hair tests are another matter completely, because they can usually detect drug use up to 90 days in the past. That said, it does take a few days for the hair to grow out enough to be sampled. This means that if you used cocaine for the first time 62 hours ago, you might still pass a hair test anyway.
If you have a longer history of cocaine use, it'll probably show on the hair test. There are fewer options for hair tests. You could maybe shave all your hair off, and we mean ALL your hair, including body hair. Even then, it'll probably look suspicious when you suddenly turn up to work completely hairless.
Another option is to try a detox shampoo. Unlike normal shampoos, these penetrate deep into the hair shafts to remove traces of drugs and other toxins.
