Methcathinone can cause problems on drug tests, and we'll explain why below, but fortunately there are ways to ensure you pass, even at short notice.
Why should you worry about methcathinone on a drug test?
You may read in some places that you don't need to worry about failing a drug test for methcathinone (aka. M-cat) because it's not specifically tested for. This may be true, but M-cat has become very popular in some areas, and as time goes on, labs will respond by incorporating tests for synthetic drugs like methcathinone.
There are a couple of other reasons to be concerned. Firstly, you probably obtained your M-cat from an unofficial source, seeing as it has no legitimate uses. This means it could have contained other drugs that will be detected, such as amphetamines.
Secondly, there's a chance that even pure M-cat will trigger a false positive for amphetamines. This may be dismissed on the GC-MS confirmation stage, or they may dig around a bit further to identify the exact substance.
What's more, M-cat is a Schedule I substance, which means it has no recognized medical applications, so there's no way to explain it away.
How long will methcathinone stay in my system?
For a test with a 500 ng/ml cutoff, the detection time is quoted as being 1-3 days after last use. That said, drug tests for synthetics like M-cat are in their infancy, so there are no set standards for cutoffs. Everyone's body is also different. Maybe it goes quicker, or maybe it takes a bit longer.
Seeing as self-testing devices for methcathinone are not so common, it's probably best to play it safe. A 7-day detox program should certainly do it.
So, tell me how to get methcathinone out of my urine fast
If you don't have a few days to comfortably detox, or if you're worried you may be a borderline case and want to make sure you pass, you can use a detox drink or some detox pills about an hour or two before your expected testing time.
Firstly, make sure you buy a product that's appropriate for your weight. If you're a little overweight, for example, you may want to go for a stronger detox product.
Secondly, familiarize yourself with the directions for your detox product. While most detox drinks are broadly similar, they do differ slightly in their formulations and directions. Pay particular attention to the suggested timing and how much water you need, so you will have everything ready when the time comes.
After using your detox drink or pills, it's vital to urinate at least a couple of times before your test, because this is how the toxins are expelled. Your detox drink should help with this, but under no circumstances should this stage ever be skipped.
At your test, the urine you provide as a sample should then be clean enough to pass.
