There is a lot of misinformation around the net concerning ingredients in Visine that help drug users to
hide the presence of drug traces in the urine. Does any of them work for negative drug testing result? Or using Visine as urine additive may get an opposite effect and make the unwanted substances in your urine even more noticeable? Let’s see.
Chemicals in your favorite eye drops
There are ten Visine Products due to manufacturer’s site. They used for different purposes. Here the table with names of the main three products and their ingredients:

There are another “Visines” too: for itchy eyes, allergy relievers with Pheniramine maleate, for tired eyes, tears for dry eyes, moisture for all day long effect, and for contact lenses. Almost all of them contain some “chemicals of interests”. Read which, or use the solution that works on test day without miracles.
So, what “gold bullet” that help to pass a urine test?
-
The first theory. The almost 30-years-ago performed research says that inactive eye-drops ingredient Benzalkonium Chloride could make the urine drug analysis false-negative and mask the presence of THC metabolite THC COOH on the EMIT test. For other drugs, this method doesn’t work.
-
The second theory is much more simple. Adding something like Visine as a saline solution to the “dirty” urine, you dilute it, so the concentration of drug metabolites decreases. It is a too expensive saline solution, isn’t it? And, what about adulterant test? Make your investigation — if using weed, add Visine to urine at home and make simple tests.
How many drops would you need to add to make you test negative?
We have been surfing the net looking for the exact amount of Visine to mask the THC metabolite in the urine. And found next. As you know, the cut-off level of THCCOOH is 50 mg /ml. for 100 ml urine sample it is recommended from “advanced users” add around 6 ml of Visine. Then cut-off level drops below the detectable level.
Bad surprise for “Visine-for-drug-test” funs
In earlier tests, when drug testing technology was weak, Visine was the best decision and only specific expensive tests were enable to detect cheating. However, the current level of the drug testing causes using the adulterants (including Visine and the same) to fail. Some kinds of Visine products even make false positive drug test results, for example, for Amphetamines (like anti-allergy products with antihistamines). Let eye drops treat eyes. Just stop doing drugs, wait and pass. Or use something more effective than eye drops.
