If you've been looking around at detox products, you may well have come across the name Zydot. So, who is Zydot? What are its products? Let's have a look at this interesting company and the products it makes.
Who Is Zydot?
The story of Zydot is quite unique. The company was started by three longhaired ex-hippies in the summer of 1987. Almost a year had passed since President Reagan issued Executive Order 12564, which called for mandatory drug testing for many federal employees. By 1987, 25% of Fortune 500 companies also used drug tests.
These three ex-hippies took exception to this invasion of privacy by companies and the federal government, so they decided to do something about it. Despite being mocked by others, they decided to develop and market a product that would get people through a urine drug test. Their aim was to make urine drug tests pointless and increase the pressure to have them ruled as unconstitutional.
Zydot's first product, Drug Free, drew the attention of government agencies and the media. Many thought it wasn't right that drug users should be able to pass a drug test, so the process of harassment began.
The first hurdle came when the US Post Office refused to deliver its goods, demanding proof that it actually worked. Even when they got the proof, the problems continued. Eventually, Zydot switched carriers to resolve the problem.
Next came the FDA, the IRS, the US Marshalls and other government agencies. Zydot then went through an image transformation. It changed its product name and stopped explicitly saying it was for drug tests. Zydot basically created the model for the detox industry.
What Does Zydot Make Now?
Zydot's original product, Drug Free, is still available. The only difference is that it's now called Ultimate Blend. It's also probably been updated to keep pace with changes in drug testing. This detox drink works by giving your urinary system a rapid flush, so you have a few hours to safely submit a urine sample.
There's also a stronger version for heavier users. It's the same great product just in a stronger form for those who need a bit more help. It also makes an herbal tea that can be drunk the day before for a pre-cleanse, as well as capsules for when you need to extend your detox drink.
What about Zydot's Detox Shampoo?
Zydot's Ultra Clean shampoo and conditioner does for hair tests what their original product did for urine tests. This revolutionary product uses three separate solutions to clean your hair of drug residues. First, the shampoo cleans away the daily grime and residues from hairsprays and gel. Next, the purifying solution penetrates deep into the hair shafts to dissolve and remove the various toxins. Finally, the conditioner leaves you with shiny, manageable hair.
Don't believe anyone that tells you it's just a masking agent. Masking agents stopped working when labs started washing hair samples. Zydot explicitly states on its website that it actually removes toxic residues from the hair shafts.
